TYPE OF CAMP: Overnight/Sleepaway. Spring and Fall weekends, summer one to four weeks, family weekends and weeks

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: We serve children and adults with disabilities including people with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, epilepsy, vision impairment, and other physical and intellectual disabilities. Swimming, horseback riding, archery, crafts, canoeing, and more are adapted for a wide range of abilities.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Dance, Music/Band, Fine Arts/Crafts, Swimming, Waterfront/Aquatics, Horses/Equestrian, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: We are about 45 minutes northwest of Roanoke Virginia in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have 8 cabins, outdoor pool, dining hall, recreation hall, tennis courts, and a creek.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For sixty years, Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia has provided quality recreational camp programming. Camp Easter Seals UCP, established in 1957 in Craig County, Virginia is enjoyed by over 400 individuals each year.Camp Easter Seals UCP is designed to offer children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy fun and challenging activities in a supportive and cooperative atmosphere. From campfire sing-a-longs and talent shows to canoeing, nature walks, swimming and arts & crafts, the Easter Seals UCP Virginia camping program provides the excitement and activity of a traditional summer camp program in a beautiful, accessible setting.
Camp Easter Seals UCP is accredited by the American Camp Association. Safety of the campers and staff are of primary concern in each of our programs. Precautions are taken in all activities to avoid unnecessary risks and the possibility of accidents.
We believe that all children and adults with disabilities should have the opportunity to participate in traditional camp activities. Our accessible camp facility can accommodate campers with a wide range of special needs. To best determine a camper's eligibility, Easter Seals UCP staff will carefully review each camper’s applicationWe have been offer quality camping and recreation for people with disabilities for over 55 years. The majority of our staff are college students studying in a field to serve people with disabilities such as OT, PT, nursing, or special education.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We offer $200 off to anyone and up to $500 off based on household income.
FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): We have a weekend in the spring and fall and a week at the end of the summer for families that have a loved one with a disability. It is a great way for new campers and parents to see camp and what camp is all about along with taking a vacation in a fun accepting environment.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Spring and Fall weekends for campers and families are available. Rental opportunities year-round.

We hire camp counselors, lifeguards, horseback riding specialists, and an administrative assistant each summer.
