CAMP FACILITIES: Our camps take place in our theater and surrounding spaces. We have a mainstage, a green room/rehearsal room with mirrors, and some outdoor rehearsal space. We also share space with the Foster City Recreation department, and a local school.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Hillbarn Theatre Conservatory, formed in 2000, is a theatre arts education program serving the needs of youth and adolescents, ages 4-18, in Foster City and the mid-peninsula area.

• An in-depth, training ground for young people who want to learn any aspect of theatre and performance.

• Valuable life skills, gaining, confidence in a professional, supportive environment. The need for artistic experience, whether as audience or artist, is universal.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Hillbarn Theatre Conservatory is a year-round performing arts program, providing theater, voice and dance training at local schools and through our own classes. Our summer program takes place over 8-weeks and camps range from 1 week part-time to 4 weeks full-time.

CAMP FACILITIES: River Way Ranch Camp operates as a resort 9 months out of the year when camp is not in session. Campers stay in air-conditioned cabins, and sleep 8 to a room, with two counselors. Cabins are complete with a private bathroom and shower, closest and sink area. River Way Ranch Camp is a beautiful facility, complete with stables, basketball and tennis courts, three pools, an on-site lake, and a high and low ropes course facility.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: River Way campers are divided into divisions. The Buckaroos (ages 7-9) have two counselors with each cabin group at all times. They receive a challenging diversified schedule, teaching them many new skills. Beginning at age 10, Rancheros and Seniors have free choices of activity. Transportation is available by charter bus from Southern and Northern California, as well as airport transportation from Fresno International Airport (FAT).

CAMP FACILITIES: YMCA Camping is at its best at Sequoia Lake. Established by 5 Valley YMCAs the property of Sequoia Lake is held in trust by the Sequoia Lake Conference of YMCAs to be operated exclusively by The YMCA. In 2010 YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake became its own branch of the Golden State YMCA Association to host all of the Associations camping programs managing all programming on Sequoia Lake. Villages Today YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake is home to 5 independent villages which house a wide variety of programs during the summer. Sequoia, Gaines, Redwood, Millwood and Tulequoia.

Practice grooving with current artists and legends to develop musicality. Includes conditioning to improve strength and to get the heart rate going.

CLASS - Rec Ballet 1 - Mon. & Wed. 4:30-5:15 4-7 yrs. 7/13-8/5 -
This beginning level ballet class will be taught in a traditional and fun manner. Children will learn the fundamentals of ballet. They will incorporate the barre and center floor combinations as well as stretching and building body strength. The class is structured to allow young dancers to explore and appreciate the world of dance.

CLASS - Rec. Groov 3 Adults Tues. 7:00-8:00 PM 7/14-8/4 - GROOV3 is the latest blood-pulsing, beat-dropping, bass-pumping dance class from LA. We're fitness out-of-the-box — where you DANCE, SWEAT, & LIVE far beyond your workout. Our mission is to inspire change and build a global community through the power of dance, supporting the idea that dance should be accessible to all.

CLASS - Rec Floor Gym 7-12yrs. Thurs 5:15-6:00 PM 7/16-8/6 - This class is for both beginners and advanced beginners. Students will be taught rolls, cartwheels, handstands, round-offs, and backbends as they progress in each skill.

CLASS - Rec Gymsters 3.5 - 7 yrs. Thurs. 4:30-5:15 pm - 7/16-8/6 - Participants begin to develop coordination and body awareness in this class. Emphasis is on learning in a fun and challenging environment. Balance beam and tumbling skills will be introduced.

Dance Campers = Students will spend their week long camp full of song, dance and crafts! Campers will learn dances, songs, and create props based on a summer dance theme. Campers will be introduced to the basics of Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater and Ballet through this exciting dance experience! End of camp performance on Friday. Tap and Ballet Combo Level 1 - This fun and exciting class teaches the fundamentals of both Tap and Ballet. This class is specifically designed for young dancers and will include basic dance steps and routines. The class is structured to allow young dancers to explore and appreciate the world of dance. Proper dance attire (Tap and ballet shoes) are encouraged. This twice a week session greatly enhances the learning experience and serves as a good introduction to the preschool environment. A special performance will be held at the end of each session.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: With 30 years experience supporting both A-List and up and coming actors to fulfill their maximum potential, film director and international acting coach Michelle Danner has distilled the best ideas and practices of the major acting techniques, utilizing the strengths of each. But every actor is unique, so you will learn to form a toolbox of your own, your very own “Golden Box”. Through studying Michelle Danner’s acting technique you will accumulate a comprehensive set of “acting tools” to use when approaching a role or a scene, whether it be for film, television, or theater.

Michelle Danner is an international film director & acting coach. Her student list include James Franco, Seth MacFarlane, Salma Hayek, Henry Cavill, Zooey Deschanel, Gerard Butler, Chris Rock, Chris Martin, Penelope Cruz, Michael Pena, Michelle Rodriguez, Kate Del Castillo and many others.

CAMP FACILITIES: MODERN FACILITY: Broadway Gymnastic School is a stateof-the-art gymnastics and children’s fitness facility offering all equipment used in the Olympics as well as trampolines, mini tramp, tumble trak, creative obstacle courses and the zip-line (a favorite among our campers). We also have an activity room, lunch room, arts & crafts room, dance studio and free wi-fi.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our spectacular gymnastics and sports camp incorporates exercise and education into a fun-filled day program. Gymnastics is paired with a variety of sports, arts, drama, field trips, and an exciting array of activities captivates all ages until the camper goes home at 12:30 or 3pm. Before and after care is available and can be arranged at registration.

ACTIVITIES/TRIPS: Gymnastics is the foundation of our 2015 fitness day camp activities. Ball sports, swimming, arts and crafts, drama, music and dance round out the curriculum. We are also known for our educational field trips: Kid Concepts, Whale Watching, Sky Zone, Aquarium of the Pacific, California Science Center and Adventureplex.

Dance, music, art and science activities are scheduled throughout the summer. Campers get the chance to try new activities, discover new talents and gain confidence in themselves. Other special themed days include Bring- A-Friend Day, Karaoke, bounce houses, zip-lining, plus Water Days filled with water balloon activities and swimming adventures. At the end of each week BGS will host a Friday Night Traffic Jam Party from 3-3:30pm!

EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS: Your child’s day will begin with gymnastics. Our training emphasizes the educational as well as the physical benefits of gymnastics such as concentration, self-discipline, psychological and emotional development, social adjustment and artistic expression. Positive feedback is constantly given so the camper not only develops good physical functioning of the body, but also gains self-confidence, self-respect, grace and poise. A customized curriculum has been designed for campers with special needs.

STAFF: The staff is headed by Broadway Gymnastic School Owners and Directors, Michael & Mary Cates and Facilities Manager & Camp Supervisor J.T. Moyé. Camp programs designed by the Cates are applauded by parents for the educational benefits, safety standards and enjoyment their children receive during the program. J.T. has been an integral part of the Camp program for many years, he has a B.F.A. in Acting from the University of Connecticut and has had an accomplished career in the Theatre on Broadway.

Camp staff have backgrounds in child development, physical education, psychology and recreation as well as gymnastics. All staff are first aid & USAG certified. Broadway’s first rate staff & our commitment to our students makes certain all campers get the most out of each day!

COMPETITIVE TRAINING: An innovative summer training program has been designed for our pre-competitive and competitive gymnasts. World-class coaches train boys and girls for all levels of competition. Videotaping, dance and gymnastic related outings are planned for enrichment and cross training. We welcome competitive gymnasts who are vacationing in Los Angeles to join us.

Nature Awareness:
Through focusing on nature awareness we encourage our students to experience what is happening around them, awakening curiosity and inspiration. When students are empowered to root in processes like making fire, foraging wild foods, making rope, and learning bird songs; they begin to feel capable of relaxing and deepening in the wilderness. We believe that learning skills of how to source our human lives from the abundant life around us grows respect; respect for the plants that heal our wounds, the sticks that give us warmth, and the creek that cools us. We develop a deepening gratitude to the elements that offer us life.

Regenerative Presence:
We use a variety of tools to inspire a regenerative presence on the planet. At Earth Path Education, we believe that the concept of regeneration is the key to a harmonious future here on Earth. We believe that as humans we can do more than not harm, we can actually feed all of creation with our beauty, our rituals, our songs, and our deep listening.

Village Building:
We hold necessary the role of the village in our Wilderness Rites of Passage ceremonies. It is the village that sends the initaites into their journeys, and the village that catches the initaites and witnesses the transformations. The rites of passage is also a key part to the health of the village, pumping all members with health, inspirations and vitality, bringing to the village the vision seeds that are to sprout us into a more harmonious way of relating.

Ceremonial Arts:
At Earth Path Education we are committed to the beauty way. We make earth offerings, and leave equsitie altars in the forest. We sings and dance, at each spring, we feed the fire with our stories and we compost our grief and our burdens, so that life can grow corn with it to feed the people. We pray for our lives, we pray for the earth. Our dreams bring us messages, and as we tune into our rhythms, and synch up with the rythms of the land. The earth starts to dream up through us, clarifying our purpose, calling us forward, and illuminating our gifts. Our ceremonies are an art of listening, to that wisdom which has been held in the earth and is just waiting to be danced up through us.

Permaculture:
Permaculture creates systems that provide for Human needs and the Earth’ s needs through mutually beneficial relationships. The health of our human community is linked to our local bioregion, which in turn is linked to the wellbeing of all ecosystems. We instill the ethics of Elemental Linking and Holistic Thinking. As every element becomes an integral part of the whole system, the whole community becomes more dynamic, harmonious, and energy efficient. These enhanced relationships reduce maintenance and stress, while increasing yields and happiness. These permaculture principles apply to our ecological relationship and our social relationships.

Play:
We instill the idea that work and play can be one in the same. We inspire youth and adults to follow the things that they are truly passionate about. We help guide each other to feel confident in achieving our dreams, and manifesting a life that we are happy to be living each day. We believe that the most harmonious accomplishments come from a people who love what they were doing, feeling that their calling, is a place where ones passion is meeting the thrist of the world and bringing sweet water to the driest of places. We learn about how to care for our amazing bodies, and discuss how to maintain a positive body-image. We learn about the traditional Moon Lodge, a sacred space established to honor a woman’s moontime. Through implementing these ceremonial practices, we learn how we can create space to deeply explore the blessings of being a woman.

We experience ourselves through ceremony and through play! We learn ancestral crafts, games, stories, and songs as we root into our bio-region! As we camp and hike our amazing landscapes, we explore the ways in which we can sustain ourselves through our understanding of the natural world. We learn a variety of earth skills including how to make fire, wild edibles, permaculture, plant medicines, and much more.

We call upon elders in our community to share their wisdom; we bring in strong role models to teach a variety of skills, crafts, and classes. Together we form a web that nourishes the fertile soil that feeds our growth and expansion throughout life. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our counselors are required to complete one session as a Counselor In Training before we offer them a position. CITs will shadow an established counselor as well as have a daily check in meeting with the directors. Before the start of camp they are also trained in conflict mediation, and required to become CPR/ First Aid certified at our Staff Meeting.

March: Annual Saturday Morning Film Festival where we screen the films made at the Winter Film Camp in a real movie theater in the bay area.

April: Weekend Workshop with Casting Directors, Broadway Stars, or other amazing guests!

May: Cannes International Film Festival in France. Since 2016 we have taken groups of students to France for the Cannes International Film Festival with films we have made at the Winter Film Camp.

Campers create a personal schedule from over 25 noncompetitive workshops offered each day. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our Story Ballet Camp is designed for students ages 3 to 5 and ages 6 to 8 to increase the love and appreciation of the art of dance while improving coordination, physical fitness, performance ability, self-esteem and discipline. These tracks are campers' concentration for each session. All instruction takes place in small group lessons and is led by experienced and enthusiastic female musicians, producers, artists, and teachers.

MEALS
Food, glorious food! All meals are delicious and included. Breakfast is typically served between 7:00–8:00 am; lunch is around 12:00 pm; and dinner is usually around 6:00 pm. This is subject to change, so please keep your ears perked throughout the day for announcements to make sure you don’t miss a meal. We offer both vegan and omnivore options and healthy snacks are available throughout the day.

SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST PERFORMANCES
Every session, a different band plays a live set for the girls and then sticks around for an intimate Q&A. In our end of program survey this was a major highlight for the girls. They learned about different genres of music and had a fun time listening to the bands and getting to engage in meaningful discussions with the visiting artists.

FINAL SHOWCASE
At the end of the session, all campers show off their original work at the Final Showcase for the whole camp community!

CAMP FACILITIES: This site offers indoor dormitory sleeping in bunks with mattresses provided. Campers are grouped together by age and supervised by their counseling staff. The beautiful setting also allows for swimming, access to the Russian River, outdoor basketball court, a play area, a cozy main house lodge, a recreation and gaming room, an outdoor campfire circle, cozy places to sit and share, a crafts shack, and a wonderful Redwood chapel.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Saint Francis is a week filled with programs that allow campers to explore and experience outdoor activities and create for themselves a closer connection to God and their communities.

Established in 2001, CSF moved to its new host site in 2014. This Camp Meeker location affords opportunities for activities like crafts, campfire, archery, games, sports, dance, water fun and nature hikes.

We build on themes of understanding and compassion in all of our programs, particularly in chapel, our scarf program, group games and discussions and our creative lessons and themes throughout the week.

Brief Description: Camp counselors at Pali Adventures are responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of campers. They supervise campers in a cabin setting, at mealtimes, and during activities. Counselors are in charge of facilitating activities throughout the day. Counselors work as a team to ensure all campers have a fun and memorable experience at camp. Counselors report directly to their Specialty Director and Group Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Exhibit characteristics of responsibility, dependability, leadership, patience, punctuality, hard work, sense of humor, self-control, integrity, common sense, good judgment and a positive enthusiastic attitude.
 Complete the staff application and interview process.
 Attend staff training (May 30 – June 12) and all in-service trainings.
 Must have completed high school and be a minimum 18 years of age or older as of 5/30/20.
 Desire and ability to work with children.
 Other duties as assigned

Staff members are entrusted with the care and safety of young children in a rustic setting replete with natural and man-made dangers. CAMP FACILITIES: Our Ballet studio is located in downtown Alameda near shopping and restaurants. It is in a beautiful old building with hardwood floors and large windows with lots of natural light.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Ages 4-6yrs: This level is for beginning students as well as those who have already been in a dance program. In addition to a daily dance class, children learn about and watch a different famous classical ballet each week. They explore their own creativity through exercise in movement concepts. Students also learn valuable lessons about anatomy, nutrition, dance history and vocabulary. Every child goes home with their own Ballet Camp Scrapbook they have created each week.

Ages 7-12yrs: This level is similar in structure and content to the camp for 4 - 6 year olds, but is for children whose focus, coordination, reading and writing skills are more developed. This camp includes a daily ballet class, video of a classical ballet, lessons in music, dance history, anatomy, nutrition and ballet vocabulary. Students explore their creativity with exercises in choreography and activities related to the classical ballet they are studying. Plus, students go home with their own Ballet Camp Scrapbook they have created each week.

CAMP FACILITIES: We are located on 220 acres in the Malibu mountains. It is a nice rustic-type camp , with refurbished boys' side cabins as of 2014 and the girls' side on schedule for refurbishment within the next couple of years. We have an outdoor pool, basketball courts, ping pong tables, gaga court, sports field, ropes course (upper and lower elements) hiking trails, indoor dining hall, conference center, an area for outdoor camping and adventures and more. We have an organic garden, and animal center - with 26 horses, goats, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, a cow and more.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We offer two week sessions for children entering grades 2-8, three-week sessions for children entering grades 5-8, special one-week mini-camps for children entering grades 2-6, and a variety of programs for teens entering grades 9-12.
The heart of Camp JCA Shalom is our friendly and loving staff. Staff are carefully selected for their skills and sensitivity in working with children. Our staff comes from all over the world: Los Angeles, the Bay Area, the Southwest, the East Coast, Canada and Israel.

All staff are required to participate in an orientation and training program prior to the campers’ arrival.

TASC : Teen Age Service Camp
(entering 10th -11th grades)

TASC is geared toward developing leadership, through a group-oriented community project implemented by the campers, and through special programs. Throughout the session, TASCers experience pride and fulfillment as they enrich the Camp JCA Shalom campus. In addition, TASCers get to experience the best components of the general camp program along with a special out-of-camp overnight trip. For over 45 years, the TASC program has been one of our most popular teen programs.

TASC : California Kibbutz -
(entering 11th grades)

TASC Kibbutz is a new program created just for entering 11th graders. This program is an immersive three week program designed to be the ultimate Jewish camping and leadership experience. In TASC Kibbutz, we transport ourselves back a hundred years ago to feel what it was like for some of the pioneers who made their way to Israel. The "Kibbutzniks" will have to "create their own world" at camp. They will build their own living area, cook many of their own meals, and even help work the farm at camp! By creating a kibbutz at JCA, the Kibbutzniks will come together as a tightly knit community, grow closer to the land; learn about sustainability and organic farming; and gain knowledge of kibbutz life in Israel- all while having fun at camp! While the Kibbutzniks will spend the majority of time creating their kibbutz, they will still be connected to camp, spending sometime every day with the rest of the camp community, and still participating in many of camps offerings such as horseback riding and the ropes course. At the end of the program, the Kibbutzniks will leave with a sense of accomplishment, a set of friends for life, and a true finale of their last camp experience before becoming a Counselor-In-Training (CIT).

CIT: Counselor-In-Training
(entering grade 12)

These future leaders have a lasting effect on both the spirit and welfare of Camp JCA Shalom. Workshops in Jewish programming, child development and leadership training, along with observation, individual supervision and actual work with younger campers, helps the CIT explore the functioning and philosophy of camp, and develop his/her leadership abilities. This is an enriching and exciting experience as well as an important step towards future staff positions at camp. By the end of the summer, the CITs have the opportunity to become junior counselors during Session 3, and will receive a small stipend. Personal Interview required.

All Teen Leadership Programs:

- Require an additional application and interview prior to acceptance.
- Have a minimum and maximum number of participants.
- Have opportunities to gain community service hours.

CAMP FACILITIES: Mariposa Day Camp, located in Altadena, offers themed weeks with several different emphases for girls to choose from. Girls participate in new and traditional Girl Scouts activities while making new friends, developing self-esteem and making lasting memories. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The seed of Sessions Songwriting and Music sprung to life in 2007 when its founder, Lauren Bruns, was discussing with a good friend and mother of two that there was a gaping hole in many of the musical programs offered in Los Angeles. Not one school was offering a songwriting component in which kids could express themselves through words and music simultaneously.

Lauren knew firsthand how songwriting benefited her life as a young adult and set out on a mission to create an easy-to-follow curriculum that inspired kids of all musical levels to create and express themselves through original lyrics and music. Our summer camps are led by real musicians who encourage kids to be creative while learning and having fun.

Sessions teachers are graduates of USC, Berklee and other performing arts programs.

CAMP FACILITIES: The school campus is 27,000 square meters and equips with state-of-art facilities which provide students with comfortable and convenient environment for learning and living. The school library has a collection of 90,000 books that allow students to access it at anytime. Wifi Internet is available throughout every corner of the campus. However, to maximize the camp experience, it is important that you are interested in foreign cultures. Designed for students age 14-18. It combines a community service project that could earn up to 80 service hours, culture activities, and traveling altogether. Participants will team-teach English to a group of Chinese elementary students. It is packed with unlimited exposure to China and Chinese language, and filled with great fun.

Not only participant will have a chance to meet same age teens come from all over the U.S. and other countries, but also make connections with local Chinese teens. This is also a great opportunity to learn to be more independent, mature, open-minded and develop a sense of responsibility.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 2 dance studios in the building. We use our large dance space for the dance classes and performance. Camp sit-down activities, arts & crafts are held in our mezzanine studio. Dressing rooms, indoor and outdoor eating areas and office are downstairs.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Star Dance Studio has been a neighborhood and family style dance school since 1950. Over sixty-eight years! Our faculty and staff are warm and caring people who love working with children. Instructors are adults well experienced in their dance art and teaching skills. Each Wednesday, we take a walk to the Golden Gate Park's Arboretum and Shakespeare's Garden. There, we take candid dance photographs (shared with you). CAMP FACILITIES: Beautiful and recently renovated Black Box Theater. It has a stage and comfortable back stage. All of our props and backgrounds are designed and created by hand. Elevated seating that can fit up to 90 people. There is a ticket booth and a functioning restroom. Different types of lighting: black light, fluorescent, stage lighting, rope lighting, and a disco ball. A working sound board, music, and up-to-date stereo system. We utilize different media options as well.
A few buildings away is our main office, where rehearsals may sometimes be held. It has 3 spacious rehearsal rooms, each with a baby grand piano.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: A sleeping princess, a spellbound Prince and more fairies than you can shake a stick at are all part of this quirky adaptation of the popular tale. The evil Trollarina exacts her revenge on the royal family by sending the beautiful Princess Melisande into an everlasting sleep, but little does she realize more than one spell is about to be broken by the kiss of an enchanted Faun.

Performance for family and friends at the end of the camp.

We do not skip out on costumes! Every participant will be outfitted in a role and age appropriate costumes for the performance. The actors and actress will also interact with carefully designed and created props.

Students will be learning stage position, projection of their voice, blocking, how to interpret a scrip, read music, sing in a group, and dancing. Since the plays we do are musicals, the actors and actresses will learn the basics of singing. It includes, reading music, matching pitch, group and possibly solo singing, tempo, and rhythms. Our choreographer will teach dance positions, dance moves, rhythm, counting, and tempo. Every lesson is created with the children's skill level and abilities in mind and we always encourage them and help them strive for their best.

Talented Tots - This is a creative movement and fun class for toddlers and parents. Children will learn basic dance skills such as skipping, marching and galloping. Class includes singing and dancing. Everyone will have the opportunity for organized play and motor skill development using hula hoops, scarves, beanbags, tunnels, balls, parachutes and much more. This twice a week session greatly enhances the learning experience and serves as a good introduction to the preschool environment. Ages 1-3 -- must be walking

Tiny Stars - This fun and exciting class teaches the fundamentals of both Tap and Ballet along with song and movement. This class is specifically designed for young dancers, and will include basic dance steps and routines. The class is structured to allow young dancers to explore and appreciate the world of dance. Parents may participate however, dancers are encourage to dance on their own. Proper dance attire (Tap and ballet shoes) are encouraged. This twice a week session greatly enhances the learning experience and serves as a good introduction to the preschool environment. A special performance will be held at the end of each session.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Programs available to teens, ages 14-17, include Filmmaking, Acting for Film, 3D Animation, Game Design. Screenwriting, Photography, Musical Theatre, Broadcast Journalism, Music Video, Documentary Filmmaking, and Graphic Design, spanning from 1 to 6 weeks in length.

Programs available to kids, ages 10-13, include Filmmaking, Acting for Film, Musical Theatre, Photography, 3D Animation, and Game Design. Kids programs are offered in 1 or 2-week camps throughout the summer season. All programs are coed. Room and board is an additional fee for teen programs. Housing is not provided for kids camps. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Young Dancer Camp is designed for the young dance student, ages 8 to 10, who are currently enrolled in Ballet Level 1, 2 or 3 and are taking a minimum of two to three ballet classes a week. It is a comprehensive program that enhances the dancer’s classical ballet training and introduces the dancer to character, historical dance, jazz, etiquette and proper stretching. Southland Ballet Academy's outstanding faculty will be teaching this camp.
